Micro Lumber
I take a section of rare/valuable 'figured or premier' wood and 'laminate'
onto a stable underlayment [Baltic Birch, Mahogany or the like].
It is different [and more valuable and durable] from 'conventionally
veneered panel' in the thickness of the 'premier wood'. Dents and
scratches that could pierce the conventional 'veneer' and otherwise ruin
the appearance of a beautiful 'skin deep' surface, would likely only nick
and dent and mar the thick exteriors of 'micro lumber' panels . Use & age
[with the inevitable nicks and dents] can add character and a
'patina' without loosing its appearance.
